Cafés with power outlets and fast Wi-Fi: how to spot them

A simple system to decide in 30 seconds if a café can host a long work session.

Not every café is a work café. Some pretty spots kill your battery in an hour and pipe loud music into every corner. Below are the criteria full-time remote workers actually use.

Three primary signals

  1. Wi-Fi at least `Good` — otherwise Zoom will drop
  2. Outlets `Some` or `Many` — enough for a 4+ hour session
  3. Noise `Quiet` or `Moderate` if you take calls

Secondary but important

  • Tables: wide, stable, not bar stools
  • Light: daylight plus evening lamps
  • AC in summer, heating in winter
  • Bathroom access and free water
